The use and applications of advanced technologies such as Internet of Things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), Deep Learning (DL), Big Data, Edge Computing, Fog Computing, etc., in the education sector is increasing with an accelerating pace across the globe and is very beneficial in delivering innovative services. This has facilitated a rapid advancement in the field of education informatics. These innovations and advanced technologies are opening up new opportunities for education sector.
With the availability of massive and annotated datasets, modern end-to-end machine learning (ML) and deep learning (DL) algorithms have shown considerable success and made a remarkable influence in many domains. The increase in number of institutes and colleges, and development of technology has made the education sector so complicated, and is anticipated that this system will become even more complex in the coming years. To be competitive and to give value to different communities, education providers will need to make smarter and more informed decisions in response to challenges such as changing market dynamics, increased government regulations, and more demanding consumers. The main goal and objective of this workshop is to invite the researchers working in the sector of education informatics, as well as those who provide software-based solutions for solving such problems, to submit their work to this workshop.
The main topics of interest are:
- Education Informatics based on Machine Learning (ML) and Deep Learning (DL) approaches
- Development of smart education frameworks based on Artificial Intelligence (AI), Big Data Analytics, Fog Computing, Edge Computing, and Internet of Things (IoT)
- Development and use of supervised and unsupervised Machine Learning (ML) algorithms in education informatics
- Development of optimization techniques for smart education systems
