Prof. Abid Yahya
Bio:
Abid Yahya is an accomplished professional with a solid educational background and extensive Electrical and Electronic Engineering expertise, specializing in telecommunications. He obtained his Bachelor’s degree from the prestigious University of Engineering and Technology in Peshawar, Pakistan. Building upon his foundational knowledge, he pursued advanced studies and earned his MSc and Ph.D. in Wireless and Mobile Systems from Universiti Sains Malaysia.
Currently, he is working at the Botswana International University of Science and Technology faculty. His extensive practical experience and academic acumen make him an invaluable asset to the institution and a highly regarded consultant for leading enterprises. Prof. Yahya’s professional stature is further elevated by his membership as a Senior Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), United States, and his certification as a Professional Engineer by the Botswana Engineers Registration Board (ERB).
Abid Yahya’s academic career has been marked by significant contributions that have left a lasting impact on the scholarly community. Prof. Yahya’s research interests are diverse yet focused. They encompass Wireless and Mobile Systems, Wireless Sensor Networks, the Internet of Things (IoT), Biomedical Informatics, Smart Technologies for Energy and Environmental Sustainability, and Artificial Intelligence (AI). His work in these areas contributes to the academic discourse and drives innovation and technological advancement.
Abstract:
Abid Yahya earned his B.Sc. degree from University of Engineering and Technology, Peshawar, Pakistan in Electrical and Electronic Engineering majoring in telecommunication. Dr. Abid Yahya began his career on a path that is rare among other Researcher executives and earned his M.Sc and Ph.D. degree in Wireless & Mobile systems, in 2007 and 2010 respectively, from the Universiti Sains Malaysia, Malaysia. Currently he is working at School of Computer and Communication Engineering, Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP). His professional career outside of academia includes writing for the International Magazines, News Papers as well as a considerable career in freelance journalism. He has applied this combination of practical and academic experience to a variety of consultancies for major corporations. He has over 50 research publications to his credit in various Books, research journals of repute and conference proceedings.
